A small village of 16 wooden bungalows on the cliffs of the east coast, with three practice spaces, a spa and a local team to look after your group. You lead the practice. We take care of the rooms, the food, the spa and the journey here.
Why the east side
Another side of Bali, for groups who know Ubud.
Raja Lima is a village of traditional gladaks, wooden Javanese houses revisited with natural stone, on the cliffs of Nusa Penida's east coast, a short speed-boat crossing from Bali. We built it with respect for the environment, and in partnership with local priests. Nusa Penida is an island of temples and ceremonies, and many guests feel its special energy.
Our team comes from the neighbouring village. We trained them in hospitality from the very beginning, and they look after every guest with extra care.
Three of the island's best-known places are within walking distance: the Treehouse viewpoint is 2 minutes away, Diamond Beach and Atuh Beach about 10. The road gets busy with day-trippers in the afternoon, but your group can enjoy these places early in the morning and after 4 pm, when they are calm. Inside Raja Lima it stays peaceful all day.
Spaces for your practice
Three spaces, from sunrise on the ocean to evening in the shala.
Every morning the sun rises over the Thousand Islands and the Lombok Strait, right in front of the ocean deck. Choose the space that suits each session, or move between them through the day.
Open ocean deck
200 m², up to 32 mats. An open terrace facing the sea, ideal for sunrise yoga and meditation. Large groups can practise together.
Semi-open shala
150 m², up to 24 mats. A half-covered wooden shala with woven lanterns: fresh air and shade, usable in all weather.
Closed shala
100 m², 16 mats comfortably. A fully covered stone shala with air conditioning and a sound system, for workshops, breathwork and sound circles.
Included
Yoga mats, blocks and belts for every participant, meditation cushions, and the sound system in the closed shala.

Rooms
- 16 rooms, all with a private bathroom, for up to 32 guests.
- 12 double rooms with a king bed (2 × 2 m mattress).
- 4 superior rooms for 2 or 4 guests, with 2 king beds possible.
- Air conditioning, daily housekeeping, fresh towels and toiletries.
- Book a few rooms, or the whole property for a private retreat.
Food
Breakfast is included in every room rate. Our restaurant seats 35 guests, so the whole group eats together, and the kitchen adapts easily to groups: buffets, special requests and menus designed with you. Vegetarian and special diets are welcome on request. We source food locally where possible, from fishermen and villagers around us, and tea time, twice a day, is complimentary.
Spa and rest
shi•ra spa is on site and is often fully booked. Your retreat guests get priority booking and a 90-minute treatment for the price of 60. The infrared sauna and ice bath are complimentary for retreat members, and the whole property runs on Starlink internet if you need to stay in touch.

How it works.
We arrange every step of the journey for your group, from Bali airport by car to the harbour, by speed boat to Nusa Penida and by car to Raja Lima. For the retreat leader: from 6 rooms, your room and a massage are on us, and the shala is free for your whole stay.

- Pay a 30% deposit to hold your dates, then 30% three months before arrival and 40% one month before.

We host 6 to 7 retreats a year, for groups coming mostly from Europe and Brazil, and to date every one of our retreat clients has booked again. We are opening more dates for groups in 2027 and 2028, so we recommend reaching out early.

How many guests can Raja Lima host for a retreat?
Up to 32 guests in 16 rooms, all with a private bathroom. The open ocean deck holds up to 32 mats, so the whole group can practise together.
